FileClarity Privacy Policy
Operator and scope
Onsimdang AI Company provides FileClarity for Android. This policy covers local document processing, Google ML Kit OCR and Google Play purchases. Effective and last updated: October 10, 2026. Contact: contact@onsimdang.com.
Documents and the local index
FileClarity processes file names, paths, sizes, modification times, SHA-256 hashes, supported document contents, extracted text and manual categories on your device and stores them in an app-private local index. The app has no feature that uploads this document data or OCR inputs and results to a developer server. PDF text extraction, categorization and file-name suggestions run on the device without a generative AI server.
OCR and Google SDK diagnostics
Scanned PDF pages are recognized on the device using bundled Google ML Kit models. Google’s official ML Kit disclosure describes SDK processing of installation identifiers, device manufacturer/model/OS information, app package/version, API configuration/events/input-output sizes, latency and error codes for diagnostics and usage analytics. This SDK information is transmitted using HTTPS. Local document processing is separate from SDK diagnostics. Google states that it does not transfer this SDK data to third parties.
Google Play purchases
There are no ads or subscriptions. Lifetime Pro is a nonconsumable one-time Google Play purchase. Purchase, ownership queries, restore and acknowledgement use Google Play Billing. The app keeps verified product/package/purchase-token/purchase-time/order-ID information when supplied, and the receipt signature, in app-private storage. It does not send these receipts to a developer server or write them to app logs. The app does not directly request or access credit-card numbers, payment account passwords or billing addresses. Google Play handles payment details under its own terms. A verified local receipt may be used offline, so refunds or revocations can take effect after the next successful ownership query. Review access is a separate local entitlement and does not create a purchase or purchase acknowledgement.
Permissions and your choices
All files access supports recursive document browsing across selected folders, reading files, comparing hashes, and user-approved renaming and duplicate deletion. You can revoke it in Android settings. Denying or revoking it disables public-folder scanning. The folder selector is not an alternative SAF access mode. Choosing Copy sends the selected extracted text to the system clipboard, subject to Android clipboard rules.
Retention and deletion
The local index and verified purchase receipt stay in app-private storage and are excluded from Android cloud backup and app-data device transfer. Temporary OCR page images are cleaned up after processing; dedicated job folders left by process termination are cleaned at the next OCR initialization. Clearing app data or uninstalling removes the local index, receipt and review state without deleting original documents. Duplicate deletion runs only after explicit confirmation of paths and retained copies. It permanently deletes files without a trash folder or in-app recovery. The app does not automatically delete your original files.
Accounts, ads and external services
There is no developer login account, advertising SDK, cloud sync or developer document-upload feature. Google SDK diagnostics and Google Play purchase processing exist, so this policy does not claim zero data collection. Privacy pages open in an external browser. The website server may process ordinary access logs such as IP addresses, request times and browser information to serve and secure the page. Document contents and the local index are not passed to this page.
Contact and changes
Contact contact@onsimdang.com about this policy or local data processing. The developer does not hold copies of your local documents or index. Requests about Google’s SDK or payment data follow Google privacy and Play support procedures. Changes to this policy will update the date on this page.
Additional Information for FileClarity on iOS
The following information applies to the FileClarity iOS app. The existing Android information remains unchanged.
1. File and folder access through Document Picker
FileClarity uses the iOS system Document Picker to access folders explicitly selected by you and supported documents within those folders. The app saves a bookmark for the selected folder and attempts to restore access when it next launches. You may need to select a folder again if it moves or access is no longer available. This does not grant unrestricted access to every file on your device.
2. iOS file permissions and on-device processing
File scanning, duplicate comparison, document content extraction, search indexing, categorization and file-name suggestions run on your device. The app has no feature that uploads original documents, OCR input images or results, or the local index to a developer server. Google ML Kit SDK diagnostics and usage analytics are separate from on-device document processing; the relevant disclosures in the existing policy also apply. When you use iCloud Drive or another file provider, iOS and that provider’s file access and download policies also apply.
3. One-time Lifetime Pro purchase through StoreKit
FileClarity is free to download and has no ads or auto-renewing subscriptions. Pro features are offered as a non-consumable, one-time lifetime purchase through Apple’s StoreKit in-app purchase system. The product ID is fileclarity_pro_lifetime. Basic scanning, duplicate cleanup, file-name search and manual categorization are free. Document content search and categorization, file-name suggestions and scanned PDF OCR are Pro features. The purchase screen displays the localized price supplied by the App Store.
4. Transaction verification, purchase restoration and Pro access
The app determines Pro access using transaction verification results and current entitlement information provided by StoreKit 2 on the device. A cancelled, pending or unverified purchase does not by itself activate Pro. When you select Restore Purchases, the app synchronizes purchase information with Apple and checks your current entitlement again. It also checks access at launch and when the app becomes active, and updates Pro access in response to transaction changes delivered by StoreKit. The timing of refund or revocation updates may depend on the StoreKit information available on the device and its connection status. Restoration may require the Apple Account used for the original purchase. The app does not send transaction information to a developer server.
5. Apple’s handling of payment information
Apple handles in-app payments and Apple Account authentication. FileClarity does not directly request card numbers, Apple Account passwords or billing addresses. The app processes StoreKit information needed for purchasing, such as product prices, verified transaction identifiers and current Pro entitlement, on the device. Apple’s privacy policy and applicable terms govern Apple’s handling of payment information, purchase history and refunds.
6. App data retention and deletion
The app stores its local index—including extracted text, file paths, sizes, modification times, hashes and manual categories—in app-private storage. Folder access bookmarks are also stored as app data. Temporary page images generated for OCR are cleaned up when processing ends. Dedicated job folders left after an unexpected termination are subject to cleanup at the next OCR initialization. When the app is deleted, app-private data is removed according to iOS app data management behavior. The app does not directly delete original documents outside its container during removal. Duplicate deletion runs only after you review the target files and retained copies and give final confirmation. It permanently deletes files without an in-app trash folder or recovery feature. File renaming also requires your approval.
